This page explains which personal data we process when you visit ergebn.is or write to us, and which rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Hosting
manitu GmbH hosts our website and our email in Germany. manitu processes data on our behalf, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Server logs
To keep our server running and secure, we log every request: your IP address, the date and time, the address you requested, the HTTP status, the referrer, and your user agent. We delete these logs after 14 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to count visits. Plausible is made by Plausible Insights OÜ in Estonia and processes all data in the EU. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses. It keeps only aggregated statistics, such as the pages visited, where visitors came from, and which country they are in. You can read more in Plausible's data policy. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Web fonts
Our text is set in Operator Mono by Hoefler&Co. On every page view, your browser asks Cloud.typography for the right font format. Cloud.typography is a service of The Hoefler Type Foundry, Inc., part of Monotype Imaging Inc. in the USA. The request includes your IP address, your user agent, and the address of the page. Cloud.typography uses them to send the right font format and to count page views for our font license. Monotype is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Error tracking
When something goes wrong on our website, it sends a technical report to Sentry, made by Functional Software, Inc. in the USA. The report contains the error message, the address you requested, and your user agent, but no IP address and no cookies. The transfer to the USA is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
When you write to us, we use your message to answer you. We keep it for as long as we need it, or longer where the law requires us to. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR when your message is about a contract, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR otherwise. Our email provider, manitu, keeps mail server logs for about 21 days.
Your rights
You can ask us which of your personal data we have (Art. 15 GDPR), and ask us to correct it (Art. 16 GDPR), delete it (Art. 17 GDPR), limit how we use it (Art. 18 GDPR), or give it to you in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR). Just write to hello@ergebn.is.
You can object at any time to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
You can also complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). For us, that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
